Dr. hab. Katarzyna Malinowska
Out of passion, she is a lawyer, researcher, and scientist. She invites you to visit her website. She holds a postdoctoral degree in legal sciences, is a legal advisor with many years of experience in economic insurance, a Professor at the Leon Kozminski Academy, and an expert in insurance law and space law. For many years, she has advised insurance brokers, insurers, and reinsurers. She collaborates regularly with the Association of Polish Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers and the European federation of brokers BIPAR. She acts as an arbitrator in insurance and reinsurance disputes. She has combined her professional practice with scientific work for many years. She currently conducts research on risk management and insurance for space projects as well as the legal framing of environmental risks in outer space. She is a frequent speaker at Polish and international conferences. She serves as the director of the Center for Space Studies at the Leon Kozminski Academy and the head of postgraduate studies "Entrepreneurship in the Space Industry" and "Property Risk and Insurance". She has written at least several dozen publications on insurance law, space law, and space insurance. From 2018-20, she chaired the Polish section of AIDA (International Association for Insurance Law) and is currently a member of its Board. She was nominated as an expert of the Risk Management Committee in Enterprises by the International Astronautical Federation and also as a member of the International Institute of Space Law. Among her personal passions are skiing, art history, and long treks in the wilderness.
Michal Szwajewski, PMP, IWE
Experienced Project Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the aerospace, research&development and energy industry. Skilled in Project Management, Engineering Management and Proposal Management. Motivated Business Development Support always looking for new business opportunities. A specialist in project management, organization, and operation of project offices, as well as business development in the space industry. He began his career as a heat exchange engineer, working on the first Polish scientific satellite BRITE-PL "LEM". Later, as a project manager at SENER, he developed the system for detaching the Martian rover from the lander for the EXOMARS mission. He actively supports the Polish space industry in the organization of project offices dedicated to the space sector. Companies such as Creotech Instruments, Astronika, InPhoTech have benefitted from his experience, and currently, Syderal Polska. Concurrently, he is engaged in educating the young workforce of the sector, teaching classes at the Warsaw University of Technology and at the Leon Koźmiński Academy in the field of space project management. His scientific work focuses on issues related to barriers and opportunities for the development of the space sector in Central and Eastern Europe.
